The Michael Jackson Magic

They say there is a very fine line between a genius a maverick and a maniac. Perhaps this is true with most scientists, musicians, artists and performers. So why is it that we are making such a big deal about this "bad boy" when almost all talented musicians have been seen to be involved in controversies. What matters is the music they created and if that is worth its place in the sun why bother about their personal lives. The man died an unceremonious death but his long illustrative career his sometimes good and sometimes "bad" music and some of his most thriller live performances deserve a loud applaud.

I have missed the opportunity to attend any of his live shows which i hear are astounding. However, i was watching a live concert from his 1992 "Dangerous" tour and besides listening to some extremely captivating music i saw the effect that this man had over his audience - i saw women in tears, i saw men ready to rip their shirts off and i saw people fainting infront of camera. He was quite a showman - not only did he have the capacity to produce amazing music but he (& sometimes Bob Girladi) choreographed each of his songs so extravagantly. The glitz and the glitter his dance movements (moonwalk) and his dancers - it all seemed to be so unusual and yet so dazzling. Goes to show a touch of a true maverick. I also remember that towards the end of that concert he blasted off the stage like a rocket and flew all over the audience. If i cannot forget what i saw some 15 yrs ago on a TV set...it must be hard to forget if you attend his live concert. So let's beat it all and pay a tribute to the king and his everlasting pop...pop...music...
